What is OpenBizu? OpenBizu is a set of open-source Mobile Libraries and utilities for the J2ME mobile development. Why OpenBizu? If you ever developed mobile J2ME applications, then you must have come across two main problems:
- Phone memory limitations.
- Device fragmentation.
OpenBizu tries to tackle those two problems by providing you with a set of light, easy to use, mobile libraries and a package utility that takes care of the packaging for most devices. Both of those projects are open-source and registered under the GNU GPL License. Have a look at our licensing section for more details. Why the Name OpenBizu? You must have wondered why the name OpenBizu. Well... the word Bizu on its own stands for a short kiss in french and is pronouced "beezoo" in english. It is usually given as a token of appreciation. We add the word "open" in front to emphasise on the fact that this project is completely open-source. Now, why beezoo? A kiss, on one hand and mobile utilities on the other hand do not match. Well...OpenBizu believes that the mobile development should be free of any hassle and most of all, enjoyable. We think that if you use our mobile libraries and utilities, you will appreciate your end product so much that you will feel obliged to give it a short kiss.
